Default The Ultimate Diverter Valve (DV) Upgrade is here from APR

APR R1 Diverter Valve (DV) Now Available for Multiple Porsche Turbocharged Engines

We are pleased to announce the world famous APR R1 Diverter Valve (DV) is now compatible with multiple Porsche turbocharged engines! This announcement comes after more than a decade of successful operation on thousands of vehicles worldwide!

The APR R1 DV is a critical performance upgrade recommended at all stages of performance as it replaces the failure prone factory unit. The R1 is designed to withstand extreme boost pressures at the highest levels of performance, while offering lightning fast response thanks to the unit’s friction-free diaphragm-based design. Unlike piston based units that can stick and bind in the winter, the APR R1 is virtually maintenance free, requiring no greasing or o-ring replacements, as is common with other units. Constructed from CNC-machined billet-aluminum with a high-temperature Nomex-reinforced diaphragm, the R1 is designed to be the last DV upgrade the engine will ever need!

This unit generally replaces the factory "710" piston style DV which has 1 inch inlet and outlet hoses, and will look physically similar in shape. It's not designed to replace an on turbo DV, both manual and electronic, as found in the 997.1 Turbo, and latest generation Panamera 2.9T/3.0T/4.0T and others, both of which look dramatically different in physical shape and appearance.

Not really. These aren't noise makers, dump valves, or delayed action valves. They just release boost pressure fast back into the inlet pipe, so that's all you'll hear.

Can you get these with a 90 degree nipple?

It's a high-temperature Nomex-reinforced diaphragm.

You guys should develop a 90 degree barb. This design doesn't work well on the 996TT because it forces a kink into the vacuum line due to the limited space above the DVs.

Isnt it the same design as the 710n?

710n is recessed but yes a straight up exit. One of the reasons I went to the forge DVs is to get the 90 degree exit.

These look more compact, if they offer a 90 degree exit they have a buyer.

When I got my car it had the straight up nipples coming from the top of my Bailey DVs and it eventually rubbed the body and cut the vacuum line. I switched them out for 90 degree nipples and haven’t had an issue in the last 3 years.

What makes these apr dvs better than the forge kit?

Or any other aftermarket dv for our cars?

That's why I asked earlier. The straight up barb of this design will not work on these cars due to the lack of space above the DV. Needs a 90 barb for sure.. APR need to offer this to make it a viable option for this platform. If the offer this, I will give these a shot.
