Are there block-off plates to remove the SAI system? I remember doing it on my VW a while back, but haven't really heard much about it on the metzger.

We are machining block off plates as we speak.

The easy way to do is is to simply remove the SAI pump and then plug the rubber hose that goes to the pump. The SAI bracket stays in place. If you want to remove the SAI valve itself, you will need to unbolt the right side intake runner manifold and then unbolt if from that. This is an engine out procedure as the whole intake manifold must be removed.

Yes, I would want to remove everything. But I'm not trying to remove my motor anytime soon...it has only been 3 months since the last time haha. Man, I love my 996TT but I honestly hate how much of a pain it is to work on the motor. If there's one thing preventing me from getting another mid/rear engine car, it's that. It makes working on my V10 Audi seem like a joy, and that's saying something.

I started young with my daughter too and so far it is working... She knows what a few tools are and can “help” me in the garage sometimes. Here’s hoping I can strike lightning twice!

I also take her to the track weekends when I can and she likes to walk around to see the colorful cars.

My Dad finally got into driving at DE over the last 1.5 years as well, and it’s been fun teaching him all the track skills...

His engineering mindset makes going through the technical aspects of it a breeze and he’s been one of the best students I’ve ever had. Spending whole weekends with him, my mom, and my daughter have been a very fun in the last year for sure.

He hustles that Boxster pretty quickly around the track but there’s still a little bit of time left to pull out.

Breaking 45ish years of street driving habits takes time...

My folks are in their late seventies, it seems like I am driving them more and more. I am trying to imagine my dad on a track... In any manner... And I can't quite see it.

I suppose if he were restricted in speed and no one else was anywhere near him, could prove to be interesting.....
