Default Talk some sense into me

I’m ready for a change. or so I keep telling myself.
Drove a 992 and it did nothing for me. 991TT was ok, but I don’t want one. AM V12V was too heavy.
Cant find a 930 that I like without the owner still thinking it’s 2016.
Keep hankering after a 430, but to stay married I’d have to trade the 996. Theres nothing wrong with the TT, I’m just bored. I don’t drive it enough, I guess.
Would anyone care to talk some sense into me?

Sounds like you need some new turbos.

Pre-lp Gallardos are a pretty great buy right now.

I go down this path about every 6 months. I hear ya.
The reason I can't talk myself into the switch (and maybe yours too) is that the 996tt just checks so many of the boxes. It would be hard for another car to do that.

-Good looking
-Pretty quick
-Easy to drive fast
-Reliable
-Done depreciating
-Pretty easy to work on
-Relatively inexpensive when compared to new cars
-Fun

ok so for context I tracked a new 430 and a murci against a TT back in the 00s on an arrive and drive day at Thruxton.
the murci was faster - 187 vs 176 indicated down the back straight - but it was like driving a bus.
The f car was so much better I can’t do it justice. I said then that I have to have one one day and it never went away.

I would do some bolt on up grades. That will solve the problem.

Does your 996TT have a tune?

Well then I have nothing for you, lol. If you are bored you are bored.

Maybe go for a Ferrari? But in the end they are all just cars. Are you interested in an electric car? The instant torque and near silent blazing speed can be an interesting experience.

compared to the tt the 430 is slow, but a beautiful car. Do what your heart tells you. If it is a scratch that you intend to do one day why wait? life is short. sounds like you are bored of the Porsche so move on...we will always welcome you back. Totally different cars. 430 lots of people looking at you, 996 turbo blends in in most surroundings.

430s are a great buy right now. If you get the right spec low mileage 6 speed coupe "regular one" or any good condition low mileage scud, you're not going to lose money. I don't know anything about your 996TT, but if it's not super personalized, you could sell it to try out the 430 and then could always get back into a 996TT if you wanted. Basically both cars are on the flat or slightly upward part of the value curve.
Or try something completely crazy. Get a modded R32 GTR or some other fast tuner car. Or if your amygdala doesn't stimulate easily, get a crotch rocket?!

Sounds like you need a 964 turbo my friend. A 996tt is a Camry in comparison, in terms of driving pleasure.
