Default Lucas octane booster.

So ive been using 100 octane from pump to make sure im at 93... But recently ive heard that the station i use hasnt been refilled for a long time. So before turning to the paint store ive been looking at octane boosters, seems theres 2 that im going to try.

Lucas 2.87 for 15oz at walmart
And torco for 12 bucks at amazon.

I got some lucas today and used a full 15zip bottle
According to calc i should be at 95.
Anyone have any other suggestions i really dont want to use straight tol or xyl to boost octane due to the nylon and our paint.

So if the 93 is really 92 does it make a difference?

Not to you but sometimes the gas stations get 91 here and market it as premium 93.

The car runs exceptionally better in 95 degree weather with supplemental boosters.

The car doesnt pull timing on twisties or wot runs.

I have kevins tune and i believe its set to use 93.

Its the same thing when i had my z06 it would run like crap sometimes on our pump 93 and it would run better with a gallon of toluene mixed in a 5gal of 93 before refill.

Yeah, it was 97 degrees here in Hotlanta this past Friday, and the 93 octane pump gas did just fine in my EVOMS Stage II 996 Turbo.

Yeah theres lots of them in central florida
And yeah it may be that way in atlanta but in polk ****y where hell maybe even tampa and orange too, gas stations are known to tamper with octane. I only go to one spot to refuel, a circle k near where i work but sometimes i use the car to drive longer distances so i have to make sure the gas that goes through the car is treated or good.

Ive had bad gas on both my land rover and in my turbo. But idc where i get the gas from on my land rover.

Are you near Lakeland? Don't you have Shell gas stations down there?

Shell's 93 might be the best pump gas you can buy in the USA and corporate management keeps a close eye on quality and octane accuracy.

Yes near lakeland, but i go to different parts of florida. It isnt just the octane rating, sometimes the gas sits or its diluted with moisture.

There is only 1 shell that i go to when im in town and its the only one that is busy.

I would not get gas anywhere but a Shell station. They are all around your area and Florida in general.

Costco, they’re a Top Tier provider. And high turnover ensures fuel doesn’t sit. Look up that label for locations near you. Plus, here they’re always the lowest price..

I was referring to when you were traveling around the state.

There a Shell stations everywhere, just google "shell gas station "and whatever town you're in and Google maps will show you where one is. I would stick to those rather than adding octane booster to secant rate gasoline.

I use BP Gas as I was told by a distributor that they are sticklers when it comes to their octane quality. Florida has good gas - I'd make sure you buy from a decent source and you should be OK - even in Polk County
