Turbo Gurus, i'm in need of some ideas.
Throwing a code after removing and reinstalling engine. P1358
Dropped 02 Turbo engine to replace turbos and address a few oil leaks. UK car.
Did the following:
Installed used K16 turbos from low milage car (old ones had seized waste gates and very corroded)
New turbo lines and oil tanks (old ones seized)
Replace leaking timing guide pin seals (removed one at a time while at TDC and tensioners removed) each one went in and out with ease.
Checked for boost leaks, found leaking intercoolers.
Ran can up, road tested. Scan, saved VAL - Only codes showing are O2 code B1 and MAF sensor (was disconnected)
Next:
Replaced intercoolers, corrected minor boost leaks
New fluids
Now the P1358 is showing up!!!
Engine back together and running great, however stored code P1358. I've swapped vario cam actuators side to side, no difference. Confirmed power at connector. Swapped Cam sensors side to side, no difference. Only thing I can think of is an internal oil supply issue, but not sure how. If it was a slipped cam ring surly the cam deviation would be massive.
Cam deviation at idle is B1 -2.2 B2 -2.0
Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
