Fault code - need help P0830 P1358
hi all, i have a 2001 996 turbo and yesterday the following code came up on the durametic . P0830 (fault code 446 clutch pedal encoder) and P1358 camshaft adjustment bank 2 below limit) . Any suggestions on what it would take to address these fault codes. Would it be safe to drive the car after resetting the fault codes. Not much help on the weekend and hoping I could get a response here to figure out a dafe option . On a trip this memorial day and not sure if I should tow the car or drive back home (around 200 miles )

P0830. Clutch Switch – Signal Implausible
Possible fault cause:
♦ Fuse faulty
♦ Clutch switch
♦ Short circuit to B+
♦ Open circuit
P1358 Camshaft Adjustment, Bank 2– Below Limit
Possible fault cause:
Note! Solenoid hydraulic valve is triggered, camshaft does not switch into early position
♦ Dirt in system
♦ Solenoid hydraulic valve mechanically blocked
You didn't state if you had a CEL?

Sounds like you just dug in and pulled some stored codes with no CEL? I'd make note of the codes, but then just clear them and see if they ever reoccur.
Anything other than a flashing CEL is typically safe to drive.
If you get a recurring camshaft code, you might take a look at this thread:

My check engine light is on and I got these codes after it came up . The code P1358 had come up during the purchase but I reset it as it seemed more like a bracket that needed to be replaced at that time and did not want to get it fixed . Looks like I have to take care of it .
Code P0830 is a new one .
