Default Turbo going bad

Hi,

I recently had all fluids in my TT changed in addition to spark plugs. My mechanic removed a hose connected to the driver side turbo and found a lot of oil sitting there. He asked me if I had a lot of smoke coming out of the exhaust or if I hear a dental drill whine from the turbos. I mentioned no. He thinks it might be a turbo seal going bad. I did tell him that a few months back I had to put oil in and I think over filled it. He mentioned at this time just to keep any eye on it, but he was not certain. Can high oil levels cause oil to sit in the hose(1/2 cup)?

I have no performance issues at all. I have 18k miles on the odometer too.

If you overfilled your oil it is the Driver side turbo that will get the overflow from the oil tank.

Drive the car for 10 days and check and see if you more oil in the hose.

Thanks for the info, what is the reason the driver side gets oil pooling and not the passenger side?

There is a vent tube that goes into it just upstream of the turbo inlet and not one on the other turbo.
