Default Help! My garage added too many engine oil and smoke come out from exhaust

They said that engine oil sucked up to intake pipe and everything will be ok after washing

is it true?🤔

Hopefully, but not necessarily.

It happened to another member recently. Read through this thread: https://rennlist.com/forums/996-turb...addressed.html

There are a lot of parts that will need to be "washed."

I believe he ended up being OK, but there are also stories of failures.

Good luck.

Of course they're going to say everything is okay, they want to minimize liability..
If they're aren't a P-car shop they probably don''t have a clue.. If they are a P-car shop this shouldn't have happened in the first place..
If it was my car it would be loaded on a flat bed truck and sent to a known P-car shop for a complete cleaning. All expenses to be paid for by the first shop.
Good luck.

Guy at work had this happen to his 997 tt. Toasted his maf. Nothing else to note so far. Couldn't have done the cats or 02s any justice though. Such a simple task to do yourself.

There is no substitute for paying qualified labor to work on these cars.

Replace the wideband O2's (preCat) Pull the hoses to your intercoolers and check for oil (should drain out).. If more than a cup, pull intercoolers and preturbo tubing and clean with soap and water.. Pull the "Y" pipe throttle body if you had to do the previous step to clean..

Your sentence is not clear, what happened? How does oil go up the intake? Did they overfill it THAT much?

For peace of mind, go to a dealer and start over.

Clean up and seems ok after driving for a few days
Thanks and what is the consequence if some of the parts mentioned above not clean ( I suppose they only clean intake parts & sensors)? Anyone has a diagram of pipes involved .....
