Default WTB or WTT: Kline 200 Cell Cats

Hi everyone, I know this is somewhat of a long shot but what the hell.
Im looking for a set of used Kline 200 cell cats for their 2.5 exhaust. The exhaust I purchased came with test pipes and I’m looking to switch them to cats due to living in the great state of California. This would be ideal for Kline exhaust owners with cats who are looking to switch to test pipes or someone who has both and do not need the cats. Willing to buy outright or trade my test pipes plus cash. PM me please, looking to do this ASAP.

How do you like the sound with bypass pipes and what is the exhaust smell like for you?

The sound is incredible and there is hardly no drone. Can't really notice the smell either. I'm just paranoid about getting pulled over by the wrong cop who's having a bad day and decides to look under my car.

Same here....that's why I'm now running 200cell HJS Sport cats. I haven't noticed much degradation in power either compared to the decats. That being said, I'm running 100 octane exclusively with a custom Cobb/Sambo tune since my car's only driven 2000-3000 miles per year.

If I lived in Florida or say Texas, I'd be decat all day every day on 94 octane and loving it. But living in the People's Republic of California is a whole 'nother game. Plenty of upside of course, but there are many downsides that delve into the world of crazy politics.

So, to summarize, there's very little sound difference between the 200 cell HJS cats and the decat at cruise, part thottle, and even WOT. The 100 octane smells good with cats or without, so definitely not like regular CA Kool-Aide pump gas.

I've contacted Sam already, unfortunately new HJS 200 cell cats cost as much as I paid for the used Kline so I'm on the hunt for used ones.

FYI, you may have a hard time finding someone to pass you even with the 200 cell klines. I've been using the same smog guy for a few years now, and he berated me when I went in last time, told me to put the stock exhaust back on before coming back this year. That made me realize, if i'm going to have to put on stock exhaust...might as well put on test pipes for the time being

Thanks I already have a stock exhaust, I just want the cats because of the new California exhaust laws.

As I'll also be buying a Kline exhaust for my 996TT, I'm also interested in the conversation about catted versus de-catted. I do not have emissions issues and so my gut reaction is to go for de-catted. I've enjoyed cat-less setups on other cars without any real issues, but want to make sure it's a good overall choice on this platform. I've never owned a 996TT without cats, hence a little apprehension about it. Assuming emissions are not the issue, would you guys all go cat-less on this platform? It would also save me a few bucks on the exhaust, so there is a bit of a bonus there too.

Definitely go de-cat if you don't have any issues with emissions. Sound is great and there is no done with the decat pipes as well. I've read somewhere that with the 200 HJS cell cats that there is very little drop off in performance but they're very expensive. If I didn't have issues with emissions or crazy California exhaust laws, I'd definitely run decat and this thread wouldn't exist.

catted vs "decatted"; the car "breathes" better and performance is commensurate with the less restricted exhaust. albeit "illegal". you can only "smell" the unburnt fuel if standing behind the car lol. but it's there. welcome to the real world issues of the mini ice age. that said, catless kline is fine.
