I hope so! It makes around 220-230rwhp, so it's got a decent amount of power given the fact it weighs nearly nothing. Good suspension on it too. I need to do some maintenance, get it thru smog and put tires on it.

does CO require smog cert on a dedicated track car? Where im at you dont even need plates, much less smog cert.

Excellent vintage. If it runs well, you won't regret it. It will make you a better driver and your consumable costs for a season of track time just got dropped by like 70%.

RngTrtl, if the car is driven on the street and has a license plate, it needs to be smogged. Since I plan on driving the car to events and around town, I need a license plate and have to get it smogged. It should pass without too much work, it has in years past.

homelessdave, the car really hasn't been used the last few years, so I need to change all the fluids on it, replace the cat, new fuel, do a tune up etc but otherwise it runs strong! Turbo hits full boost and it runs well it should make around 230rwhp.

I'll do the maintenance, add tires (may go up to 15's as then I can fit larger brake kits) and see how it does. I expect I'll add a Wilwood big brake kit at some point....

At least a 205/50/15 on a 7 inch wheel. You don't need to go bigger in diameter, but you can get more aggressive offset and definitely add some width. 205 with a more aggressive offset will fill out the wheel wells so it stops looking like a 356. 205 is mild and you may find you want more with the added power and you can fit a lot more under there if you need to. Try proper track pads and cooling before jumping on the big brake kit bandwagon.

Should be other options on the market still too: http://www.trackspeedengineering.com...ake-Ducts.html

Mmmmm 6ULs https://949racing.com/15-wheels.aspx. Pick your wheel width, there's lots to choose from. Fitment details are on the forums for each size if you google it.

Gotcha, I usually think of dedicated track cars as ones that are trailered to the track and arent street legal.

Homeless Dave, I was thinking getting a set of 15*8's with 225-45 tires. It's either that or a set of 195-60-14 Azenis on the stock wheels.

I'd like to stick with the stock brakes first and see how they do. Not sure on brake pads tho, I'm used to hardcore track pads as all my cars have been heavy and powerful.

This is lightweight and quick....
