Yeah there's one near me (Sarasota, FL) black tip that's just silly cheap at $35k. I think the miles are under 50k on it too. I was going to go buy it a couple months ago but they guy stopped responding to my calls/texts so I figured he sold it. It's on autotrader fyi.

I have one modified. I bought it with 27K miles on it for 40K 4 years ago. I can drive it in a spirited way, and then go out to dinner at night with it. Big thing, I can go in traffic and not have my legs ache thereafter. Interesting enough, it was my wife who asked me to get this car. My other car is a fully modified 951, stage 2 clutch, not fun in traffic.
On Long Island, traffic is heavy, but out East I have some room to go.

Yeah he was at $38k a few months back. He mentioned something about a crack in the dash when I talked with him on the phone. Seemed like a cool guy. If the car checks out it's a steal. Suncoast Porsche is in Sarasota for a ppi or there's Rennhaus also.

Other than the "Lifters need work" (whatever that means) part. That would seem to be an important item to get checked out.

This is a funny thread to read as I have the same southern NH based itch and have also been thinking about picking up a tip 996TT this winter. I already have a 03 996TT manual but I just can't bring myself to take it out after the salt hits the roads as it is too nice and for my tastes - my car is a very high spec one and a bit of unicorn car for options it has...and I don't think I'd find another like it. My original plan was to drive it year round and I even picked up last winter a set of C4S wheels to mount snows from CL and then decided not to do it. I have read extensively how these work in the winter and it would seem the general consensus is they work very well with snow tires except in deep snow where they will snow plow with only a 4.3" ground clearance. I even looked at putting adjustable struts on the car and to try and raise it an inch or so in the winter - all doable for a price. Having a second one means twice the maintenance and but I like the idea of a reference car, a no-worry about door dings daily as well as getting one without the X50 package (which my current one has) and a tiptronic which is a much better option for a commuter car. Where in NH do you live? I live in Amherst and commute to just off exit 1 in Nashua or frequently to Manchester airport for some crazy early morning flight somewhere (which is when I really need to depend on a car to get me there). This thread may push me over the edge to just do it (I turn 50 in a month so I get the life is too short to drive something boring).
