So without the the modified inlets you were operating outside the Porsche specified temperature limit?

hes literally blown my mind with what he’s offering now. The door you picked up... 🤯. I asked him if it was ok to see if we can do a group buy on them. He’s up for it.

Those CF ones actually look really subtle from that angle, are they Manthey reps? Any pics from farther away?

Markus and I bought 4 sets of these doors together. Same deal. One set is for my car and a spare set on hand in case I need one.

Those are Manthey. Manthey does not physically make them themselves, they contract it out. Not any different than what Porsche does with parts..

Yes it can handle the heat with the stock design but every few degrees the intercooler outlet temperature goes up the computer will retard ignition timing in order the avoid detonation (knock) which reduces performance. One of the reasons you use high octane gas is that it burns slower and allows for more advance ignition timing without detonation thus increasing performance. Also same reason, all things being equal, that the engine can make more horsepower in the winter since the inlet and outlet air is cooler.
Larger intercoolers and/or more air allows the intercooler to remove more heat from the air. Possible disadvantage is an intercooler with a larger volume can introduce additional turbo lag. Better same volume intercooler should have a better fin system and allow more air through it.

Just to give everyone a heads up.

The gentleman who’s making the fender intake scoop extenders by Manthey is making them shortly. Reach out to him via Facebook, Markus Drzensla, for more information. Great opportunity for a awesome part that you can’t get in the US by anyone.

Just passing on the information
