That is a lot of miles for a 2001 996. Avg miles per year on a Porsche (except the Cayenne) should be about 6k.

the car IS three years old, and the previous owner drove it 10k miles a year, which isn't crazy-i just wouldn't want to spend 81k for a 3 yr old lease return. typically, leased cars are not treated as lovingly as owned cars. the car might be worth it, but i don't think that i would do it, unless it had a few year warranty.

31k miles is nothing. The car still could (should!) be in perfect condition. As you probably know, my '00 TT now has 147'000 km (91'360 mi) and it's still running very strong. So don't be afraid of 31k miles.

Oh, and the avg miles for a Porsche should be way over 6k! Otherwise, the owner doesn't know the meaning of 'fun'.

Greetings,
