Thoughts on a Daily Driver?

I was daily driving a Defender 110 when the office was 5 miles from the house... it has since moved 30 miles away on the highway and I rarely drive it anymore. Shame because I love it.
Doesn't get anymore analog than that.

I had a first-year (in US) disco V8i five speed. Cool truck (and essentially the same drivetrain, ecu, etc as a D90) but it got to a point where I'd start pulling out the bulbs on warning lights rather than dealing with 'Diagnostic fees' from the dealer to reset spurious warnings. The 3.9 and 4.0 aluminum engines always leak oil, the electronics were for crap, paint work sub par, etc.
But again, cool truck.
These pics from back when you could walk into the LR dealer and buy a brand new D90 at a discount off sticker.

I drove a Panamera 4s today. It didn't feel quite as big as I thought it would, but even with 440hp it didn't wow me either. Very poised, very nice car. Just not sure it's the one.

Used, low mile first gen Panny Turbos sell for a fraction of their original sticker... They drive great and look o.k. if in the right color. I wouldn't touch a new one. The few years of depreciation is truly massive.

Hard to beat that E63 wagon. We don't get an RS6 here. I don't know what your budget is, but as others have said a Macan or Cayenne Turbo are great DDs. Or just say **** it and pick up a Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk. I'd probably want something that rides better as a DD, but tough to argue with the performance and looks.

My 2014 is for sale, on the lot of a good friend who owns Millenia Motorsports. Am taking the train to work, so don’t need a DD any more. Last off the NA V8’s, with only 24k miles.

Great looking Cayenne in one of my favorite Porsche colors, Carmine Red!

I don't follow Cayenne pricing, but it looks like it's at least in negotiation range of a good deal!

Thanks for the positive feedback. I think it’s priced right given the miles and condition, but am also open to offers. It’s an awesome, fun vehicle. It’s amazing how Porsche engineered such a heavy vehicle to handle like a sports car.

+1 for Sport truismo or E63. But I'm an Audi wagon guy and like the handling of a wagon over an SUV any day. If you're shopping Jag I would also test drive an Audi SQ5. I had a loaner for a week and really loved it, just wish they offered a wagon with the same drivetrain.

I definitely would love a hot wagon. However, I'm always torn by the economy with a big engine - remember, this is a daily driver that will see mostly city driving and short distances. I've loved my X5 Diesel as a daily as for a 6k lb SUV it has a lot of push with 400 something lbs of tq and still gets strong MPG - especially on the highway. With the M-sport package, the dccd, and tq vectoring diff, it even handles really well - for what it is. I get about 450-500 miles to a tank.
The idea of the electric jag is that it would have the fun factor with the instant tq, range would be fine for my use, no one else will really have one so it stands out a bit, and it has some fun new tech stuff to play with when I'm stuck in traffic.
Just another car on the list I suppose.

I have to say that even with tons of key engineering lessons "lifted" from Tesla, my guess is that Jag will have a bit of a learning curve with their e-vehicles.
And while I will admit the Jag looks better than a Tesla X, the X has better range, more seating, a proven ability to deliver e-vehicles, and at a similar spec level, would cost pretty much on par or less than the Jag. And you could get one this year and capture the full $12,500 Fed and CO tax credit on your lease.
Go test drive one at Park Meadows... You'll know pretty quickly if you love it or not!
