If I win Mega Millions tonight I can think of a lot of things that tempt me, that will no longer tempt me.

I already checked that one off the bucket list and it sits next to the 996TT. Totally different purpose and I don't want to part with either.

Now if I could get an NA (1 of 1), NB (1 of hundreds), or ND (doesn't exist so far as I know) model as a real coupe... shut up and take my money. But then again, such rarity defeats the purpose of a Miata: disposable precision track weapon.

Ah screw it. I don't know what I want.

After 8 great years and 55k miles of ownership, I replaced it with a 1999 Lamborghini Diablo Roadster, one of only 142 ever made with the revised design. Has more than doubled in value in the 4 years since. Hard to accurately describe the driving experience, its just that good.

Enjoy your 996TTs guys, great cars.

I built a Miata.
I'd have another.

911 was my end game. I can't wrap my head around owning anything higher up on the food chain.

For those that have had 996 and 997 Turbo’s. Did you find the 997 being worth the ‘upgrade?’ Or was/is the 996 Turbo more than enough of a driver’s car for you?

I found the 997.1 not much of an upgrade. The 997.2 depends IMO on whether you want a PDK...game changer in terms of acceleration at the expense of a loss of feel. If the money was not an issue for a person, I would be inclined to skip to a 991.1 Turbo S and get the increased precision of handling (based on reviews, I've never driven a 991 anything).
