Auto dimming rear view mirror

I'm not sure the manually-dimming rear view mirror will work on the 996 Turbo with rain sensing wipers.

I may look at just replacing the dimming mirror with a std one, I'm guessing it would be no dimming at all. I'll have to chew on it...
I like my rain sensing wipers...

I think the rain sensing wipers would still work with a non-auto dimming rear view mirror. I just don't think the manually selected dimming mirror will physically integrate with the windshield mounted rain sensor.

Then maybe just have a regular pc of mirror cut for the dimming housing?

That might not be fun at night, given the inability to dim the reflection of the lights on vehicles following you.
