New Porsche owner in Los Angeles. Just picked up a 2004 996tt with 29k miles for 49k. Car is in nice condition.
Car being delivered next week. Any LA 996 owners out there? Any local happenings?

Congrats, that is my favorite color combo, with those low miles, I say you scored. I can see heated seats & dual tips, how is she optioned otherwise? Don't know where you are exactly, but this dealership has always treated me well......just received the invite, never been to one.

Nice combo. Mods? You are asking the wrong person.....99.9% stock for me, and anything I do has to be totally reversible. Prior owner had installed XM radio, so I ripped that out, he installed the control head where the cd storage was, I think I will install an extra Porsche cubby in that slot instead of the cd holder. Small mods like that, maybe a Gateway iPod interface someday. Its a weekend driver for us.

Very nice looking combo. Love the Lapis blue. If I would have found one in my search I would have bought one for sure. Enjoy, and welcome!

P.S. Dont drive one that has been flashed, if you want to keep yours stock. Down the rabbit hole you shall go

If you want mods:
Exhaust, flash, tires, engine mounts, shifter. All a good starting point that are easily reversible.

Congrats on your new ride, love that blue!

One you have a little seat time to ensure the car is fully sorted, the best bang for the buck / easiest mods are exhaust and tune. Both together really transform the driving experience IMO.

Sam @ By Design is based in Tarzana which pretty close to you...definitely a good guy to know.

Congrats, Nice combo. I'm in LA too. First and formost, I'd join PCA, but join the Grand Prix region rather than the Los Angeles Region. They have more events and are usually more active. That being said, I've been in both and enjoyed each of their events. Heck, these days, it's easy to keep an eye on both regions and what they're doing so you can participate. Check their Facebook pages for upcoming events. I'm in Vegas this upcoming weekend, but down to try to get some 996TT (or non TT) owners together for a canyon drive sometime in the following weeks! Oh and also put April 22nd on your calendar for Luftgekult!!! It's the most amazing Porsche Show I've ever been to! We should get a group of us together and caravan to it! Anyway, PM me if you wanna get together and do a 996TT drive sometime! Techweenie is another local 996TT owner and like you, his is a cab. Congrats again on your TT!

Congrats on your new car! I had a client with a Lapis on grey cab with a blue top, low mile car here in CT. It was such a great car, the blue/blue on grey really pops. We shortly added a tune and tubi exhaust and a couple of supporting mods which made the car a total blast to drive. Unfortunately he sold the car last year to pick up an R8 v10.

Enjoy your new car and thanks for a trip down memory lane.

Welcome. I'm just over the hill from S.O. but make it to the Valley just about every week.

As far as events, the biggies are Supercar Sunday in Woodland Hills http://www.http://www.supercarsunday...rque-schedule/ and the Petersen Sunday drive-ins. 3 different car gatherings in Malibu throughout the month - my favorite is The Gathering on the first Sunday of each month ar PCH & Trancas.

Nice.. Looks like you found a great deal.. Enjoy.. as others have said an exhaust and a tune will really wake up the car. (recommend checking out Kline exhaust and the Cobb access port, throw in a 997 shifter and you should be good for a while).
