what about a stereo system?
Was wondering what others are running in their cars? I have the pre-bose premium system and while they are nowhere near my home systems (denon 4802R avr, Rotel 1065 avr, Harmon Kardon avr with klipsch and B&W reference series systems), the stereo is overall not bad. I was wondering about what people run in their cars. I've heard good things about alpine head units as well as eclipse (not sure about their reliability). What do you think would be the ultimate setup for carrera TT?
Also, what tunes are you all listening too?
mine are:
1. Dave Seaman - Renaissance Awakenings
2. Deep Dish - Toronto
3. New Order/Electronic
4. Sander Kleinenberg - Nubreed
5. Oakenfold - Perfecto presents another world
Happy Hollidays and merry Christmas

Here is one of mine that is currently being worked on. Waiting for an upright shelf to sit in fron of the other upright rack so that my McInotsh MC 301 will fit. Tight now it won't fit.
This car has a McInotsh 406 Head unit, McInotsh MSS 650s in the doors with Dynaudios being used for the mids bass on a MC Electronic Crossover. The rear components are QSD 5.25 with Scan Speak Revelator tweeters and McIntosh Crossovers.
Sub is currently a 1 cube box with a down firing Diamond Audio Titnaium M6 driver.

As of monday next week, I'll have the full blown Reus system for the TT. He's pulling out all the stops and going nuts!! (I already have PCM though, so I opted against the Pioneer nav).
BTW DougH, I'm considering the MX406 to go into my older benz...how do you like it compared to other head units you have had? If I'm not mistaken, it is a preamp-only right?

The McIntosh MX 406 is the head unit to use unless you opt for the MX 4000. I have a Nakamichi MB 100 that I was using in a boat. The CD changer tray has issues.
I have a good relationship with a stereo shop as I take care of tickets and small legal matters for them. They let me try out/audition various equipment in my systems and I can take it back if not happy.
I have owned or tried out or auditioned the Eclipse 8 and 16 volt, Sony CDE 90 ($1,200) cooper chassis, top of the line Premier, Clarion Pro Line 800 and 900 series, and the high dollar Alpine which I still have sitting around some where.
The McInotsh has analog volume (probably the only one out there) and dual 20 bit converters. Its signal is crystal clear and the best I have heard bar none. The only complaint with the McInotsh is that it only has 4 pre amp out and no dedicated sub out, but that is not much a problem.

msindi,
great tunes for driving. Check out Hernan Cattaneo -- he's one of Oakenfolds prodiges and the discs are just sick. He's on the perfecto label. an instant classic.

very very clean buddy g what subs are they and what sizes though? look like 8's and since there are 3 w6ers or w3's? Very nice. Was that fiberglass piece one of the off the shelf parts you can buy and then incorporate? It would be cool to know where to get one for the hell of it!

SPR,
Everything was custom done by my local shop. He could probably do another one like that if you want one, in whatever color you want. He also painted my center console and stereo surround and upper light surround. They subs are 8" JL Audio Pro's. JL Audio Amps, MB Quart speakers Alpine CVA + XM + Navigation/DVD.
I love it! He just did a system in my Scooby and it rocks too!
