Was there in late April. Not a 996tt, but about as close as you can get (and a damn fine looking car, also):

Also, Porsche doesn't seem to be ashamed of any of the cars it builds. Case in point, there were 928s on display everywhere

(Rngtrtl - Sorry that neither is a 996tt pic. Don't taze me, bro, err, uh, turbro)

History has been kind to the 928 I think. In some ways it was a car far ahead of its time. The real shame test is whether any 924s were around.

Having the 996 Turbo on display is no surprise at all. It's not like Porsche considers the 996 Turbo a red headed step child that they are not proud of, keeping it off the display floor.
Yes, as I wrote the 996TT has been displayed a couple of times before but never in the prominent center stage position it is in now. I consider its current placement an acknowledgement of its reccent renaissance.

I never said it was surprising.

With every passing day I grow more fond of the 928.

I don't consider that a prominent position.

I consider that as "reading a lot into it".

In post number eight I wrote it was the first time it has been featured so prominently. Which means that it had been featured before but in areas of the museum I consider not as prominent. As for the rest, I don't care what you consider prominent or what is being read into something too much.

I don't see "a couple of times" anywhere in that.

How many times has the 996 Turbo been on display at the Porsche Museum, and where specifically was it displayed?

I am not going to engage in your wordplay game. Go try ineptly trolling someone else.

I agree. For some reason, they always remind me of a spaceship. I'm glad I bought mine back in 2014 (when $9k could buy a nice one), even though I rarely drive it. They just have a "coolness" factor to them. I'd like to get a 914 for much the same reason, but have probably missed the boat on them since 914 prices have risen above what I can justify for garage decor.
