Cable chains in the rear will suffice. The 295/30ZR18 size is not made in an ice/snow tire as you may have already noticed.

the rear is a 265 and the front is the same size as your front tires. get the dunlop winter sports. you must get a new set of smaller 10" wheels for the rear. i used them in the northeast snow today, and they work fine.

For the 996 Turbo & GT2, Porsche's recommendations would be in your owner's manual.

Front:
8" x 18" - ET50
225/40-18

Rear:
10" x 18" - ET47
265/35-18

As of this year, their recommended winter tire is the Pirelli Winter W240 SnowSport N3.

Snow chains part number 996.361.922.00 can be used on the rear tires (265/35 only).

Pirelli introduced the new [N3], submitted it for approval and Porsche liked it better than the Dunlop. However, you can still use the Dunlop SP Winter Sport M2 [N0] if you'd rather.
