This is a car I restored a couple years ago - one of a handful of Turquoise 911s ever built. (yes, it's a factory color). And no photo does it justice.

I do not regret my choice to wrap my car blue.

Weird how this thread is about "if you could do any color.." yet it consists of responses for colors that I've rarely, if ever, seen. So is everybody just settling on color?

Me, I love Carmine Red, Chalk, or Graphite Blue - any of them. However, I've actually settled with Seal Grey and Jet Black Metallic because none of my previous owners bothered to consult with me prior to their purchase.

My last car I was specifically looking for a Mexico Blue wide body 911 (found with a google search on craigslist) - this time I was specifically looking for a Lapis Blue and Grey Interior low mileage 996tt - when it came up - pulled the trigger.

Congrats! Nice to be so definitive and have it realized.

I visited every dealer within 100 miles of my house (at least 6) for nearly two years and all the dealers said I was trying to find the proverbial unicorn. They suggested ordering one but every time I tried the "Build-a-Porsche" my cars turned into $150K-ish works of art, and a $220K Turbo S! I would be afraid to drive those everyday. Although I'm not destitute, $150K is still a lot of money to me. Either I needed to compromise my bank account or my color choice. Cheapness ruled.

Lots of colors I might choose over Zanzibar, but personally I'd keep the Zanzibar over either a wrap or repaint... Just not a fan of color change wraps, and a repaint is a huge can of worms.

If you're referring to my response I didn't take it that way at all. I was honestly happy to hear that you knew what you wanted, found it, and got it.

although ultraviolet wasn’t a color available back in the day, viola Metallica is. How many 996 turbos have this paint color? No idea, but I would jump on one if I did find one at a reasonable price.

Thanks. Very familiar with the color -- I did this Mexico Blue 'conversion' (on a 76) years ago.
