How to hear blow off/diverter valves working?
I have the Forge diverter valves with Forge F-pipe.
Why is it u cant hear them chirping on de-acceleration etc.
All other Porsche turbos I have owned when modified made great noises?

When I first got my 996TT many years ago I heard the valves blow off on a few occasions the first few days. Then it just stopped. The car was totally stock but had been sitting for quite awhile. Maybe the actuator arms were a little sticky?

you must be thinking of BOV's, blow off valves, those are vented directly into the atmosphere and with out all the hoses directly connected to the the valve the venting is cleary audible.
DV's vent back into the intake, with the F pipe and hose connecting to the DV which muffles and limits the audible sound.

The only time you hear them in factory recirculating configuration is:
1) if you have a boost leak in the area of the diverters
2) you have an aftermarket intake of some sort. the stock airbox muffles a lot of the noise. the cars with filter on turbos but still running recirc systems seem to make more blow off noises.

PS donât think an evoms intake will change the noise either. Iï¸ have an evoms with billet DVs new f pipe, fabspeed w cat delete and all that stuff and itâs very rare to hear the DV working.

Don't tighten the hose clamp where the F tube connects to the Y pipe and you will get a cool whistle/whoosh noise when you chop the throttle. Just a little tidbit. I would never do such a thing.

Our V-Flow intake paired with a set of good billet valves like ours or Forge will make them audible. It is not a super loud sound like you get with an external BOV, but on shifts and when letting off there is a definite chirp.
