So I had a techart type 1 rear wing blade that cracked on the car when I bought it. It came with the factory wing so I put that on. The wing deployed as it should. I purchased a carbon techart type 1 style wing, and now the wing will not go down. When I put the factory wing back on, it works accordingly. Any ideas as to what could be the issue? No leaks that I can see. Eventually upgrading to the electronic units, but trying to figure out this issue. Could I maybe have spun the pistons too much when retightening then to the aftermarket wing? Any ideas?
I spun the piston a little bit and I pressed the button. I was able to hear them trying to work but they wouldn’t. Then only the passenger side would go down causing the annoying lopsided wing. Looks like I’ll be ordering Dave’s kit sooner rather than later.
Maybe measure the new wing to make sure the centers are the same, if it's slightly off could be misaligned putting weird pressure on the rams.
+1 That's what I was thinking. Long shot is that the springs are broken. This happens, but both breaking would be low odds. Wing off, they go up down fine, then wing on they don't... it's the wing. Unfortunately, there is no adjustment with the factory rams. There is but one alternative to hydraulics, and I'm very sure there is some couple of millimeters adjustment possible.
Found my issue... over tightening of the upper wing blade. It’s literally to the point where if I over tighten it a little bit it doesn’t want to work. Loosen it a little and then the blade wants to pop off.
It’s a replica sold by vivid racing. Made by schnell. The wing came off the white ruf replica 911-al did. Factory wing, no issues. Easy install and wing deployment is factory spec. The after market one needs a little finagling to make it cooperate. Anyone ever heard of this?

No. But to be fair, I haven't given my spoiler one second of thought since I installed Dave's Rennkit. (hint, hint)
And my Misha GT2 Add-on spoiler works fine with the Rennkit.

Honestly, your write up is what sold me on the kit. I get married Sunday and am a little strapped for the cash at the moment. I was trying to make the car look good for the wedding because it will be on display outside amongst other p cars.

Wait til after you're married!
Seriously, congrats! I've been married for 24 years. 7 of 'em good ones.
