996tt spoiler disable.
Ok guys.... so my rear spoiler has been acting up and keeps getting worse. The rear spoiler failure light pops on about every 30 secs and the spoiler tends to get stuck in different positions. Im looking for either quick fix for this, or a way to disable it and keep it in the down position. Have a long trip this weekend and I know this will annoy the **** outta me. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

There is a red and black wire from the pass side spoiler ram. Follow wire under lid cover. From driver side you can peek under cover and see the two wires. disconnect and spoiler will not go up.
In the pic you can see the two connectors on the end of the electric motor right side (red and black wire).

No expeirence with the wire technique for disabling the spoiler, but I think fuse D7 will deactivate the spoiler. The warning light will go on if the spoiler deployment speed is obtained.
The fuse also is for the engine lid so if you need to open this you need to install the fuse.
I yanked the fuse for a while until I could get the spoiler problem addressed.
Be aware if the spoiler is acting up it is probably leaking fluid, Pentosin, and this ain't nice to rubber (and possibly other materials). Get the spoiler lowered all the way, then use hot water to rinse away all the leaked fluid.

If you have a couple free hours before your trip, you could try the ol' flush w/ 50/50 Pentosin/Stopleak mix. If not, I'd just pull the fuse.

There is no red wire on the passenger side ram. There is a gray, a blue and two black wires to the two microswitches. Disconnecting motor wires won't stop the warning either. At 75 mph the ECU is expecting the up switch feedback, at 37 the down switch feedback.
