Most Desirable Stock Seats?

Just to be clear, while we're beating this horse, is there such a thing as "Sport seats" that do NOT have the hard backs? Or are "sport seats" and "hard backs" synonymous?

On 996 Turbo's, yes. One sport seat only. Hardback, manual fore-aft, shoulder wings. You could optionally get the backs painted exterior color, which looks great.
But as an fyi, in the 991 generation, they started calling the base seats 'sport seats', and the hardback/shoulder wing seats 'sport plus seats'.

Do you gentlemen with the Euro GT3 seats ever go on roadtrips and/or miss the ability to recline?
It seems the market has figured out how desirable they are.

GT3 Euro Factory Porsche Recaro seats are King.
blown away at how comfortable they are on long distance drives. And no other Porsche seat of this era had more bolstering or support.
They have the Porsche crest on the headrest, a small "Recaro" logo on the back, and they weigh about 40 pounds less than the factory comfort seats.

In terms of how they fit the driver, seats are not a one size fits all discussion. The size and shape of the driver, in terms of gut width, shoulder width, and sitting height, all impact how a seat fits them.
Obviously, wider gut and/or wider shoulder width can impact a driver's comfort in seats with narrower width seat backs, like those on sport seats or GT3 seats.
Sitting height (height as measured from the surface you're sitting on to the top of your head) is responsible for where your gut and shoulder width are vertically in the seat, and therefore how the seat's lumbar support (or lack of lumbar support) fits your lumbar. So sitting height can affect the comfort of a seat..
Seats that don't fit well can pass as adequate if you don't normally driver longer than the time it takes for the seats to start impacting your comfort.
Obviously, seats can be judged in a "I like the way they look" manner, but for me, how a seat fits is more important than how the seat looks.

According to the Turbo order guides I have and every Turbo build sheet I have ever seen, there were only two available seats for US 996 Turbos. Both of those seats had additional options that could be added to them. I don't believe the GT seats mentioned above were a PCNA factory option on 996 Turbos. Euro only, or bought as parts and installed by owner.
The two seats available in the US on 996 Turbo's:
Standard Seat (power, full leather), optionally available with Supple Leather (option 982), Lumbar Support driver and passenger (512, 586), heated (342), headrest crests (XSC), and finally lowered 10mm (XSU).
Sport Seat (Option P78), additionally optionable with Seat Back in Leather (XSB), Seat Back Painted Exterior color (XSA). Heat, Crests, and Lowered as described above COULD be additionally optioned with P78. Supple Leather and Lumbar Supports COULD NOT be added with P78.
