Most Desirable Stock Seats?
I was taunting myself earlier by looking at listings of other cars on market and noticed a 996 turbo with electric sport seats. I didn't even realize that was an option. However, it got me thinking, what are the most desirable stock seats for our cars?
I think I know all the options, but let me know if I missed anything.
1. Standard seats - always power, correct?
2. Luxury power seats
3. Sport seats - manual
4. Sport seats electric
Was lumbar option on all seats?
I would think manual sport seats would be the most desirable as they are the lightest, no?
Interested to hear others thoughts on this.

It really depends on what you want. I have the basic power 'comfort' seats with perforated leather and adjustable driver's lumbar. These seats work really well for me and I don't find myself falling out of them when I'm out in the canyons doing my thing.
I had the chance to buy a set of really nice power sport seats from a buddy for cheap, but they're super firm and not as comfortable to me, so I passed.
Do the sport seats look cooler and add some perceived value? Perhaps, but not for me personally.

+1 for the hardback sport seats. Depends what you want and what you use the car for though. I'm sure if my car was a DD I may prefer the comfort seats more.

Sport seats (no cost option P77) definitely look nice, but don't fit me well and are less comfortable for me. Too narrow in the shoulder area. Sport seats were manual fore/aft but electric backrest adjustments.
Lumbar support (option 586 for driver, 513 for passenger) make standard seats more comfortable, as does the supple leather (982). Neither option available with P77 sport seats.
I don't think 'fully electric sport seats' were ever offered on 996TT's, nor 'luxury' seats.
Neither the standard seat or sport seat are great for track use...

Well, pretty sure they were manual fore/aft at least through 2004, and confirmed by my 2004 order guide. Possible they had full power sport seats in 2005 Turbos?

I have the electric comfort seats with supple leather, heated and with memory (2 settings I believe). Great for everyday driving and much more comfortable than the sports seats on my E53 BMW X5 4.6is despite the latter being an SUV.

Two words = H-A-R-D B-A-C-K-S !!! Sport Seats
I love these seats, they fit me like a glove.. are sexy as hell (especially with factory color match backs and crests) and still allow full access to rear for my kids. Cannot possibly ask for more
(only pic I had available at the moment)
