So as an example... That drivers seat certainly doesn't look 'immaculate' to me. Looks average, what you might expect with that mileage. Just being super picky to illustrate that descriptions don't always match reality! Also, all his pictures are 'spoiler up' as well which could mean bad spoiler hydraulics, or just that the seller thinks it looks 'cool' when the spoiler is manually raised when stopped.
Pictures can be misleading though, you might need to see it in person.
If you could pick it up at $40-42K, it would leave you some budget to fix the things that will come up in your first year of ownership.

Not hard to replace seats, plenty of used Porsche seats for sale, but keep looking there's plenty of cars out there.
This one is an early '01 with those ugly front bumper warts. Can't remove them easily or on the cheap.

Cleaning will not help that driver's seat.
Cars/trucks can be "used" without abusing the materials. The side bolster on that driver's seat has been abused.
BTW, who are the critics here who do not use their 996 Turbos?

My point was more to illustrate 'described condition can be different than observed condition', not to be particularly critical of the condition of this 69,000 mile seat.
Again, I've seen and owned 60K mile cars that look like they rolled off the showroom, inside and out. And looked at 30K mile cars that were a cosmetic mess. I like the former...

David, it sounds like you have moved on but if you do end up looking at that first car here in NC and you want some help let me know. I am about 30 min from that dealer. I can help you check it out if you want. I am not a Porsche tech so not a full PPI but I'll just say I do have a clue, also have a durametric pro so we can pull engine report and do a few other tests. This is not trying to sell you something either, just an offer to help out.
If you still haven't driven one you could stop by the house on the way, although THAT I will have to charge for.

If I come that way again to look I'll hit you up though. I'll pm you my number and we can stay in touch if you don't mind.
I am almost reconsidering that low mile C4S again for $ purposes. He came down to a respectable offer. But hearing that the C4S will continue to depreciate, so I don't like that. Nor would I like only 320hp.
I guess I'm rushing myself because I have a buyer for my other car and hate to think of being without my toy. Lol
I guess I need to slow down and wait for the right car to come along.

Would a 2003 X50 Car be worth paying $59-60K for with MID 50's for mileage??
Seems the Turbo S models and X50 cars are going for 60-80 range..mostly high 70's.
Are the X50 cars really worth the extra?? Especially if one could be had for $60K?

No it won't. That seat has seen A LOT of @ss.
Dunno, here's my driver's seat, pic taken just now. 52K miles and change. Lots of use and shows *some* wear, but not a lot of abuse.

Supple/tufted seats always look worse for wear. You're comparing a smooth leather above to supple, of course it will look better .
And yes that seat can be brought back to like 90% like new. Even the little cracks.
