6MT! 6 speed!
Am I the only one who NEVER uses 6th gear, not even when cruising on the interstate, and who thinks "who the **** needs a second overdrive, cars were just fine when they had 5 gears, before 'six speed' became shorthand for manual transmission"?

Three Wheelin'
Yes but I do have to follow the speed limit, and I see no point in driving in 4th or 5th with a bit higher rpm if I'm just cruising. Going at 55 in 6th will give you approx 2000 rpm and the car is perfectly fine with that.

Totally agree. And I'm running straight 100 unleaded, so no point in wasting it on a higher cruise RPM.

Race Car
When you are cruising at a constant speed above ~50mph or so and not accelerating, how does 5th/6th gear selection affect the level of boredom? In such a setting there is no need to have the car running at higher RPMs and burning more gas unnecessarily. With the car under acceleration it is a completely different story. When I switched from an '86 to '91GT 928, I found the shorter 5th gear extremely annoying when cruising on the highway for long distances.
