Default Diverter valve blow-off?

I heard a loud swoosh of air, kind of like when you release an air chuck from a compressor at 60 psi.

I was pulling about .9 - 1 bar when this happened. I have never had this happen before.

Is this normal? Just blowing-off extra pressure?

Thanks!

Did the sound occur when you came off-throttle?

I never had that happen before. I thought our cars diverts the extra pressure back into the system, as a true blow-off valve which vents to the outside atmosphere, thus hearing a loud swoosh of air?

It was so loud I thought I blew a tire. lol

This happened to me at the track and an intercooler hose was the culprit, it was loose, retightened and good to go. pressure test and report back

Could be a split or loose (guess how I know) f tube. Mine was the hose clamp on the y pipe to the f tube. Only whooshed when I let off the throttle.

Do you have a test procedure you could recommend?

Thanks!

Just did my pressure test. Here is one of many guides out there. https://markskituning.com/pressure-t...d-boost-leaks/

If possible start at the turbo outlets and work towards the intake. Pictures attached of where I hooked up too.

After you test from the turbo outlets, do you also test from the intake side by removing the air cleaner and attaching air supply to the rubber coupler?

Thanks!

I actually test with the air filter off since it is easier to find leaks with it removed.

I left the air box in. Mine held 1.4 bar, if it didn't hold, your probably gonna hear the leak. I didn't have any so air box stayed in. if you had a loud pop and blow something off, it probably won't even hold pressure very well.

No, what I meant do you connect pressure to the intake at the MAF? The Porsche manual indicates that is where you are supposed to test. That doesn't make sense to me, as you will be forcing air potentially into the crankcase.

That doesnt make sense - follow markski's testing procedure.
