This should be very interesting. 996 GT3 RS with only 1600 miles going up for auction at Amelia Island in March. Wondering if this car is under show and display and can be registered in the US.

I can tell from the background it's at Ryan Friedman. I was looking for pictures of GT silver 991 w/ clear rear lights and saw this same background Ryan Friedman website

I saw that GT4 RS going for big bucks as it should I suppose. I safer place to dump money and be able to drive is some at least would be a GT3 RS. That's on on BAT that just closed was kind of cool if you consider what he paid to get it legal.

 

The bad thing about show and display law is they don’t allow you to drive the car a ton. 2500 mile per year limit. Me personally if I’m relegated to strict mileage limits by law, then I’d rather have a nicer lower mileage car that hasn’t been used as a race car like the one on BaT was.

Ballsy with no reserve. This is local to me if anyone wants eyes on it.

Long list of exclusive options and factory cosmoline on the underside looks basically new (maybe someone more recently reapplied some). The leather is bubbled and damaged in some places.

 

I didn't see the bubbling, except for the steering wheel. Granted I miss stuff. Which picture? There is a scratch on top of the drivers' door card like somebody tried to slide something big through the window.

 

That's original cosmoline and factory felt tip markings on the left side of the case. Not sure what "bubbling" means with respect to the leather but the seats obtained creases if they were ever sat in. No worries. The worst offenders are the European GT3 Sport Seats. They pull badly at the areas where the seatbelts go through. The Perlon versions were superior. Too bad not many backed up the truck and bought them when they were available.

 

I like the current bid of $69,420 by Nash_tdi. Apparently, he likes to '69' while high.

I think what he's referring to are cars that have been "ridden hard and put up wet" (horse term). No one wants a car that has been whippd/beaten. OTOH, they are indeed very robust cars.
