Pretty sharp car. I like the embossed leather CC storage cover.

Interior seems about right. Is it just me or does the exterior seem to hold a patina that looks 3Xs the mileage? Of course, black paint shows that stuff a lot easier.

I may part with my long hood if these types of prices are reached across the board...any takers?

$200k 993 -- https://bringatrailer.com/listing/19...rera-s-3-6-28/

Not the best time to be in the hunt for a 996gt3, but I haven't lost hope yet.

Default Am I the only one bummed at run up in $s?

I appreciate that our cars are greatly under appreciated (both as drivers and assets), but yet again I’ve purchased a car just to drive on track, AX, and tour and it’s quickly shot up in value to the point where I start to question the wisdom of using it as intended, purely for financial reasons.

same thing happened with my 70RSR right after I bought it to experience a pure long-hood sports purpose driver…

Ah well, nothing to be done, other than to continue to enjoy them… hope they don’t all disappear from the track like most long-hoods have.

Same thing happened to me when I bought a dc2 Integra Type R about 5 years ago. I bought it in the teens, and was planning to track it a little bit. But the value went up so much I decided not to.

Why would someone pay ~ 200k for a 993 Carrera S?
They are pretty, but not great dynamically.

My mind boggles.
I guess if one is rich enough, $$ don't matter.

more power to the buyer

I am also shocked by that sale. It doesn't really make sense. Kind of like the $190k 6/3.

I've driven the Carrera S in a manual and it was a fun car - but not 200k fun. Best of luck to the buyer and seller, and if they're both happy that's all that matters, but damn. Too rich for my blood.
