Bumping an old thread. I just bought some E88s randomly while on a road trip in Maine. The guy used to have a 996.2 GT3 street car that was converted to a track car. I bought the wheels off the car for my 996.1. The wheels have been shipped, but I don’t have them in hand yet. Anything you can tell based on these numbers? I’m just hoping they work out. Thanks in advance.
Numbers on the wheels:
0288108 followed by 34
14 followed by 0288120
I believe they are 245/40 and 315/30 Hoosier slicks. They are build date 2016 despite never being used, so trash.
Give me barrel sizes and I can give you offsets. The front looks to be 1.5/7.5 et42 going off memory for a 120 center.
Ok, thank you. What I figured with these. I should have them Thursday. I will examine them more closely then. Hoping the barrel and lip sizes are easy to figure out, or just using a tape measure. I appreciate it.

I just got them in the mail. I’m assuming that sticker is on the inside of the barrel. Either way, I’m pumped. After basically a 2 min wash/wipe down, they look pretty good. I’m sure with a little elbow grease, they will look great.
We ceramic'd our E88s and the dust/grime flies off them. I was worried about having Raw Polished lips for the first time in a loooong time but so far they've been great to maintain.
Thanks again. Had the tires and wheels mounted yesterday. Unfortunately, my bud only took a picture of the front wheel specs. Either way, they worked out perfectly. I went with Michelin Pilot Sport 4s in 245/40 18 and 295/30 18.
Bumping this informative thread with a question for the E88 front rim spec.
Mooty's spec: 0288120 1.5" and 7.5" barrels 9x18 et 42
Then Powdrhound had a set for sale with this: 18x9.5 ET43.5 (1.5/8)
What would be the pro's and con's of these two? Any rolling of the fender needed for the 9.5" spec? This thread was created in the NT01 era but now Nankang AR-1's have a lot of tire size selection in 18's too.
Second question is, if I get Surface Transforms rotors (I believe 362mm front 350mm rear) they will fit either of the above?

18x9 is good for 235 or 245 tire. 18x9.5 will work with 255-275. 18x9 is a direct bolt on, 18x9.5 will need high camber up top and needs 2.25" diameter springs as clearance is tight on inside.barrel by the spring. With 60mm I.D spring you may need a thin spacer on the 18x9.5. Front radiator bracket may need to be slotted and the assembly moved forward a half on or so to clear the wider tire at large steering angles.
The Mooty 18x9 et42 will clear OEM 350 calipers, the 18x9.5 et43.5 will clear OEM 380 calipers. It's the caliper, not the rotor that is the problem. If you are not super handy or scared of mods, stick with the 18x9.

Thanks for the reply!
One more question is if you can run 275’s with the 9.5” is the reason why you went 10” wide rims up front because you wanted to stretch the 275’s more for an even more ideal fit? For a 10” up front then that’s when other suspension parts need to be added like LCA’s etc, whereas for a 9.5” rim you can just do what you said above on OEM suspension?
