Default Anyone run BFgoodrich RS1s?

Curious is any of you guys have run the BFg RS1s, NOT the R1 as it does not come in my size. I'm looking to try the RS1s in a 265/35/18 and a 335/30/18. I'm wondering how many heat cycles these would be good for and how they hold up on warmer days. It seems that they would only work on cool days, maybe 75F max. I'm very hard on tires and wonder if these would even be an option. For comparison, I'm currently running NT01s in a 275/35 and 335/30 and get 10 decent sessions on them. I can squeeze out 12-13 sessions on them but they are totally worthless at that point. On Kumho V710s I would only get 6-8 sessions before they were done. Thx..

Do you need special front fender to run 275 NT-01 up front?! 10" rims?

Friend in E90 runs them and convinced me to get a set to try on the gt3. They are faster than Hankook TD which are faster than R6 on his car. I will try them out next week and report back. I'm looking for something else than R7 to run, I get <10 HC on R7 so too expensive to run.

Keep in mind that they run very wide. I'm running 285 in the rear and they are wider than the TD 295. Not sure about 335 but probably similar trend.

For the 265/335s just slightly less, about 100lbs less at 1135/1521lbs. I wouldn't run it on an oval but should be ok in a road course on a cool day.

Stupid me, didn't consider load rating.

R7 in 295/30-18 is rated 1,235lbs
R1S in 285/30-18 is rated 1,168lbs (-67lbs)

Should I worry about such small difference?

Although I have to admit it is the lowest rating of all the tires I just checked: NT01, Trofeo, TD, R888.

Stock fenders with 18x10 et38 wheels and 102mm ride height. Tight as hell but fits perfectly.

I'm just glad they're $1100 per set. Lol. Still the best bargain in tires out there, just wish they were a bit faster. I may try Hoosiers in a 265/645 and 305/680 as those are perfect for the 10/13" wheels that I run. I need a set up with a bit of a stagger, rears about 0.5 - 1.3" taller than fronts. Pirelli slicks is another option but I can't stomach a $2300 tire bill if I end up getting 6-8 sessions on them.

I can get the BFg R1S for $1200 and if I could get 6-8 sessions I'd be happy. I suspect that may be wishful thinking as the R1S is an autocross compound and they don't make the R1 in my size.

I've actually just ordered a set of the new R888R. Came up on tirerack web site last week. Have some friends in Europe that have been running them this summer.
Supposed to be holding up better than the old R888. And faster, 15% more grip and blah, blah.

Check out the racing and competition section. There is a thread on them.

You are obviously way faster than me if you kill a set of NT-01 in 10-12 sessions. Mine last almost double that.

Hopefully the R888R will be a much better tire than the 888 which was horrible. I'll try it if they come out with a 335. The largest I see is a 295 right now.

I saw that they only come in 295. I ordered them for the gt350. Will give them a try and see how they hold up. Interesting to see how they will handle a heavy car like the gt350.
Will drive cup2s on the 996gt3 this upcoming weekend. Cooler and sunny for Sebring is the forecast.

John - Hopefully Chuck will chime in here as I believe he has gone through a couple sets of the R1S as I remember picking his brain about them not too long ago.

I can't for the life of me work out why Yokohama doesn't offer the A050 to the NA market. Powdrhound you'd love them and would never want to run NT01 again.

Even if they did it would not help as the widest A050 is a 295 as fast as I can see.
