There aren't any standardized sound recording variables, so it can vary well change from track to track. This is why most manufacturers don't publish DB on exhaust components, it's essentially setting themselves up to get shot in the foot in the event the testing parameters net a different result than what they tested. That said, those guys wrote up a nice little blurb about their testing experience at Laguna Seca..."We've tested the Orange on a 991 GT3 with side muffler deletes that was 104dB before the muffler and passing a 90dB day after. We've tested on a stock 991 GT3 and the car passed where it hadn't previously. And we tested on a 997.2 GT3 that had not passed at Laguna and passed a 90dB day. We've recorded the Orange GT3 Center Muffler in our own testing at 10-12dB reduction over the OEM GT3 Muffler. All of the testing was done on cars WITHOUT GPS Exhaust flap closing devices." That statement should provide realistic and repeatable sound expectations. If you end up needing to drop DB further, we are in the midst of creating resonated turndown tips that can replace the factory tip assembly in minutes. On top of that, you can also use GPS valve control devices that a few people have write ups about on this forum. This allows you to close the valves at points on the track you know they are recording sound.

Bumping an old thread, I’ve been running the 997gt3 header, cat and center muffler. Now ran in to the very common rear crack on muffler. Muffler is toast. To many cracks to weld.
Anyone have experience with Dundon Orange center muffler. Unfortunately I need the quiet version to pass sound on most tracks here in Europe. Damn, I miss Sebring sometimes.

Good luck breaking a Dundon orange center muffler. I dare you to try your hardest, Jamie makes good stuff. Sebring was my home track for a couple years, it is a great track and not a care in the world for sound restriction as it's in the middle of nowhere haha.

I appreciate that. There are relatively few people and companies on Rennlist that actually support the Porsche community with their experience and the products they provide...I consider them A players. Jamie/Dundon is on that relatively short list and they know that. I have no hesitation in recommending the best person or company to meet a member's goals in the event that myself or SOUL does not fit the bill. I would expect the same from those that aren't here to be cookie cutter sales employees, and actually value the members of our community.
Shoot me an email and happy to get you all setup. We even have them in stock!
Jamie
