Has anyone installed duct work for cooling on a GT3....or is it even possible?

The GT3 has pretty decent set up from the factory. We typically install the larger ducts on the control arms from the GT2. Between that and the scoops on the fender well that vent the air from the front radiators onto the rotor and you should be in the correct operating temperatures.

996 Cup ducts on the front and 996 GT2 ducts on the rear. You can take it further on the rear by fitting the 997 undertray and NACA ducting but that involves a bit of chopping. I think powdrhound (?) has done that. The cup ducts arent cheap but they're HUGE.

Thanks, I'll try the cup/gt2 scoops, but worried they will be ripped off at apex curbing or any off track excursions. (I'm getting terrible fad at the end of races.)

What pads are you using?

I've used the biggest ducts they make and all they did was end up dragging everywhere and if you go off - they are plows. There's a little room for additional ducting up front, but not much. I would Check your lower and side scoops to make sure they're properly aligned. If they are, look at your pad and fluid. Then maybe adding shims. And if all that doesn't work, I would look at more ducting.

Knock on wood, I've had a few off track excursions with mine (including flying over a steep ripple strip a few weeks ago in the wet, but at low speed) and the ducts have stayed put. They drag on the bitumen the but they're pretty sturdy, and I don't have cable ties on mine.

I use pagid yellow in the front and black in the rear from the best of my recollection. The car is fine through most of a sprint race but tends to have terrible fade at the end. The fluid is changed regularly with high temp fluid. We have removed the AC unit so I was hoping some one has run duct work to assist in cooling.

We discussed the cup scoops but the normal GT3s have more depth and would seem to indicate better cooling. Still open for ides and thanks to all for the help.

I have the 996 cup car front ducts and the 997 rear setup. The Cup car parts are ~ $200 and, yep pretty low, the rear can be done fairly easily.

This is probably the best way to go short of something like the RSR setup which has a 4" duct going to the rear of the rotor and a 2" going to the caliper...
