Angry steering wheel help

I am least the fourth owner of my beloved 996 GT3. So I got the OMP cup steering wheel, a spare steering wheel clock spring and resistor to make the airbag jumper, and the hub boss. I was ready to install today.

The manuals say how to remove the airbag off the stock steering wheel with a T30 Torx bit. from the back, but the Torx bit didn't fit. I check the bolt with a flash light and a mirror and discover that the bolt head is in fact a 4mm metric hex. I can only assume then that one of the previous owners had swapped steering wheel at some time in the car's life prior to my ownership and re-installed the stock steering / airbag.

Of course, the bolt wont budge (probably due to LocTite) and the hex head is starting to strip. Any advice to get these damn things off?

Use a high quality 4mm 6-point socket (Snap-on, Hazet, Stahlwille) and try tightening it a bit first to break the LocTite, which hopefully is blue and not red. Odd that someone would go to a hex from the better Torx fastener.

Maybe sacrifice a Allen wrench and put jb weld on it and put in hex screw and let it cure? I've seen it done on bicycles. Mike

a mechanic friend of mine got it off. He said the bolt was a Torx T27. thanks for the help guys. However the Momo hub boss would not allow the horn wires to pass through. So steering wheel is mounted but no horn
