Default question for mr. c4

this is a bit off topic but i am curios abot your sig. i guess it is suposed to show how exposed everyone is, but evertime i see it, it is wrong. not my ip or isp. it also doesnt usually show any info about me system, but sometimes it does and that is pretty scary. most times i look at it, there is a new address and the addresses aren't even close to each other.

so how are u capturing all this info aobut me? since it keeps changing, does that mean i have been attacked and someone sold my identity?

thanks.

What's with the spyware Mr. C4??? It's a little invasive...Particularly to the "MEMBERS" of this board...

It would be appreciated if you would change your signature accordingly.
Thank you....

There's nothing tricky about what he's doing. When your browser goes to get the image in Mr. C4's sig the User Agent for your browser, which contains the type of system you're running, and the IP address you're coming from become known to the server which then generates the image you see on the fly. Complete with rude commentary about your ISP in some cases.

Well I guess it's no big deal then... Was not sure if it was spyware collecting information for malicious purposes. Thanks Steve.

Mr. C4... No ill will meant toward you or your signature after all...

Hey folks....

Steve is right on... It's a simple reverse lookup when you open a thread with that image. All it does - is look at your IP that you hit the image with - and your browser type - and throw it back....

It's not "spyware" as it does NOT save your info in a Cookie or anything....

John and Steve, thanks for explaining before i managed myself!

No bad intentions with the sig., just thought it looked pretty funny when I saw it the first time myself, so I adopted it.

Ciao,

Johannes E.
