Default Wing plugs - need a source

After a DE, I noticed the wing (aka the Ironing Board) was a bit loose on one side. No probs - when we gently popped the plug to snug up the wing, we saw the plug was already a bit damaged, so a replacement seemed to be a good idea.

I placed an order with Pelican Parts for a set of plugs for the wing. All was well for few days. Then I received an e-mail from PP advising the parts would have to be sent from Germany, incurring another $47,000,000 in cost and 12 years shipping delay. (ok, maybe a bit less than that).

Does anyone out there have a domestic source for these things?

Usually they are cross referenced to Audi parts. If you get the info then post it here. I dislike when people try and hide such info when they are just sourcing a VW part.

One of the worst designs ever for a plug cover. I left it off. Mike

Thanks; I'll check with bumperplugs. I went to them when I took off the Californicate license plate and had two holes up front to fill (Florida may be goofy, but we don't require front license plates).

Update: didn't see anything for wings on Bumperplugs site - they are out til the 20th so I'll call them. I'm not holding my breath they'd carry such an arcane item.

They can get them if you need them. I just got a set within the last year. It took a long time for them to get them in from Porsche, but I got the impression that they sourced extras at the time. So hopefully it won't take as long for you.

Pelican Parts absolutely can get them from Porsche, but as they advised me, the price was suddenly inflated over their "list" price and they have to be shipped air freight from Germany, so it ratchets up to stupid expensive for two little plugs that then need to be painted.

I'm simply looking for an alternative source. If it turns out that PP is the only place to get them, there you go.

That'd be great if they have Wing plugs. I sent a note to them. Their bumper plugs are great.

Bumperplugs Eric came through like a champ. Note to self - these things are freaking expensive! Only replace when/if really needed.

Yepper. That's pretty much what that last post was attempting to convey. They are pricey.
