996 GT3 Alignment/ Setup Thread

Race Car
I put 2-3k miles on the street with my car each year.
My current setup is a little more aggressive than what I posted above, and I currently have 750/900 springs in my car...but it's because I'm running slicks on and off too so I have a compromise setup between the Nitto's and the slicks.
It follows the crown in the road and can be darty...but it's a trade-off I'm perfectly fine with. I wouldn't say its violent at all. The ride is rough but soo is the stock ride in these cars. The advantage of being able to turn down the shocks...esp the high speed compression helps quite a bit. My wife still drives it to work every now and then so it can't be that horrible. Everyone obviously has a different tolerance for this stuff though.

Thanks again.
Sounds like I have a very similar base to work off (basically same spring rates, similar dampers)
Are you using the Nitto's on the street?

For sure it is always a compromise between street and track. I am not out to set lap records, but want it to be fun on both the street and track. For a data point, I have a bone stock 87 Carrera that is great on the street, and fun at the track, even though it is way to soft in that environment. This car is for sure more aggressive, but I don't want to dial out all the street ability, been there done that with a 944 turbo. It was great on the track but horrible on the street. That is why I am looking for real world experiences and data.
Astrx, what are/were your other settings? Spring rates, toe, caster, ride height, and bar settings where you were happy with it on the street? Also what tires for track and street?
Thanks, really appreciate the insights.

For sure ^^, I think what I have now is a good road setup and mildly acceptable track setup. Mind you I don't push this car 10/10 on track.
I have the alignment specs somewhere, I will post them when I have a minute for you.
Cheers

Sorry here is my specs:
2007 GT3 - Right hand drive, so corner weights may look a little different.
Very much the same as my old 996.2 GT3, this is an excellent road alignment, but definitely needs more camber for running R compounds on the track.
Corner weights: (weight in KILOS)
FL - 291 | FR- 259.5
RL - 426.5 | RR - 390
Ride Height:
FL - 333mm | FR- 343mm
RL - 345mm | RR - 345mm
Roll bar:
Front - 2nd hole from hardest
Rear - Middle hole
Wheel alignment:
Front Left - -2.35* | + 8.0* Castor
Front Right - -2.35* | + 8.0* Castor
Toe - 0* (neutral)
Rear Left - 2.40* | 1.5* Toe in
Rear Right - 2.40* | 1.5* Toe in

I would love to give slicks a try as my car has the set up for them. What slick are people using generally on these cars? I have heard Pirelli are the best available but opinions from people who have tried would be appreciated.

My '04 GT3 is used street and some track. Street Mich 235 and 295 sizes (stock) and track on separate wheels use Hoosier R7 245/35-18 and 315/30-18. My Alignment set-up works fine for as a combination for both uses. Ride height I'm pretty sure is 10mm lower than stock heights... I don't change for track.
Front stock settings except camber is 3.2 and rear is 2.6. Sway bars: front one off full stiff and rear one off full soft.

You might try scrubs. I've been getting 20 HC's off of used DHs at $600 a set with shipping. They are well worth the money.

Has anyone tried the Bridgestone RE71R on our 996gt3?
Widest size seems like 295
I've been going thru a couple of sets of NT01 and like them but always fun to see if there is something else out there.
