Default Gauge cluster same on GT3 and 996?

I want to install BumperPlug gauge trim rings on my incoming GT3- can I assume the cluster is the same except for the tach face as the regular 996?

The GT3 clusters I have seen are the same as a 996 for the purpose of trim rings. Jeff

I've installed the aluminum trim rings from Eric on my GT3 and they fit fine.

Quick tip: don't use glue, at least not at first. Try fun-tack, roll it inside the rings, then press firmly onto the trim. Holds extremely well, but it's easily removable if for some reason you want to, and avoids the possibility of getting glue on the guage face covers by mistake.

Karl,

Is the finish close to or matches the factory aluminum pieces found inside the car? Do you have a good picture of the rings installed?

Yes it matches very nicely and no, I don't have a picture but I'll take one tonight and post it. I also need to get some pics of the Ruf pedals and Artic Silver console as well as my V1 install to post on my web site.

BTW, I pulled the CDR-23 and there is no MOST fiber cable connected, so I'm thinking a Traffic Pro will work in the car.

Thank you, Karl. I can't wait to see the new pics. Interesting find about the radio. I guess MOST is only used with the Hi-fi and BOSE options. This means that the standard system in the GT3 is even easier to upgrade if need be.

There's an easy way to tell if your car is equipped w/the MOST system - if sound system data is/can be displayed in the gauge cluster, then it has the MOST system.

JeffES,
How do you display it in the gauge cluster, do you know what menu that is under, etc?

I took a picture tonight. The flash distorts the effect of the trim rings by making them look a little dull. I'll try it again this weekend when I can take a picture in the daylight.

Thanks, Karl. I too managed to take some pics last night. These rings are installed in my friend's GT2.
