What garage space are you in at ACS? I will see you most likely tomorrow with my son as a spectator, and go out with him for the parade laps.
Get an instructor, the POC has a good group to chose from. The lines between the cars can be fairly different. Are you running TA1 or TA2?
The front straight speed will blow you away at ACS compared to the Boxster.
Oh yeah. I am the guy with the silver 996TT that thinks he is fast
If you are looking to get private instruction @ WSIR let me know, we can split the cost. I have someone with the club that ran a 1:28 @ WSIR in my car with me as a passenger.

Holy Sh@*t, 1:28 is very fast. I've been in a built 73 in the passenger seat at the big track and felt what a 1:29 felt like. G forces were def present. I managed a 1:35 in my 996 GT3, but knew there was so much more. It's all about trusting the car will stick, which it will, but being behind the wheel at speed, forces you to trust in the moment, and that's where it means everything.
Bart, you should consider his offer. You will get up to speed much faster with an instructor in the car that can show you what your car is capable of. Way more than you think.

Josh, I thought the same thing until I saw the last minute of the vid where the viper passed the GT3 going flat out on the long straight, and suddenly the GT3 came by the Viper. The Viper has torque at its advantage, but the GT3 has speed and probably better aero. My .02

Thats racing and race craft.
If this is the video I think, thats Sabrina Schmidt (queen of the ring) driving the 911. She uses traffic to her advantage. There are a couple of places where the Viper is less confident about out braking into a turn and really should have had the pass but 911 closed the door on him. Good example of this is how long it took him to get by the much slower dunlop Audi (R8?).
Heart break at 9:12 (but another example of using traffic) because the viper finally got a good run and a pass, but way in the distance you can see the car on the right which eventually caused the viper to check up and let the 911 by again. Again race craft. No question the viper was the faster car, but that 911 was driven better.

Great observations there! Sabine can drive, that's for sure! Great to see how fearless they are and also how much trust there is out there. I agree the use of traffic was superb. Great feedback there Dan, I can see you are a very good shoe!

Some turns/corners it felt the instructor was going to go off the track. Especially going into T8 at 141MPH then tapping the brakes lightly to get the nose down and then accelerating from the exit to the entrance of T9. But he was in total control the whole time (looking back). It is great to know what my car is capable of running. Now it is up to me to get close to his times.
Bart come join me sometime. IMHO, in 5-6 hours with a private instructor
you will learn more in that time than running a whole season.
