Default Sandown Trackday - Australia

Sunday 27th Sept. Any Victorian members coming along? Organised by Driver Dynamics so there will be tuition available on the day and I'm presuming it will be a non timed event, but if you use Harry's you've got all the timing you need.

Bit of turn 1 fun to spice the thread up as little.

Are you going? I'm thinking about it followed by Maserati club day at Phillip Island 30 October to finish the year. New track tyres are on the way.

I have a Perfoemance Box so can time my own laps.

Haven't done a DD event for many years.

I've got a couple of days lined up with them in November as well as a PI day with the dealership... I figured the weather would be on the improve by November as I've done more than my fair share of track days in the wet.

Lotus, have you run there before? What sort of times are you getting?

964DJM, they don't allow timing unfortunately. You'll need to conceal your lap timer. Phone lap timing is the easiest unless you have the antenna for your PB in which case you conceal the laptimer in your glove box and mount the antenna for signal

What are the Maserati days like 964djm? Car requirements, licensing? May be interested...

In my experience Maserati days are good. Well organised and lots of cool cars turn up, from lots of different marques. Crowd is friendly. You'll require membership of a CAMS affiliated car club (WRX Alfa Skylines Porsche etc or even Maserati!), and have a CAMS L2S license (just admin no tests). Go to CAMS website and you can do it all through their web portal.

^^ like lotus said. Usually less cars so more track time than wrx club, msca and others I've been to. Tends to be a friendly bunch, out to have fun not get too serious about it. They usually allow passenger laps in the morning session.

I can't get to the driver dynamics day but might do wrx Sandown event 20th sept and Maserati Pi 30th oct

Driver Dynamics days require only that you pay. Can't recall anything else required except your car and a helmet.

Meant for attending the Maserati days... Held an L2S for 3 years as I was attending Garth's race car test days at PI... Stopped going and it lapsed...

DD is just pay and play as you rightly pointed out

By the way do you guys know if roll cages and fire extinguishers are required for the Maserati days?

I'm back to cosndiering DD 27th at sandown together with a mate in a TTS (Audi not Porsche!). Bought new helmet and HANS today and had new semi slicks fitted so pretty much good to go.

Balancing then fitting. Also refitting the factory extinguisher and a Cup tiller. Should be a fun day. Hoping for cool air, dry track and lovely early spring sun for the day.
