GT3 Cup Wheel. WOW!!!
I know this has probably been discussed about a million times, but I thought it was time to add to that count
I finally got around to installing my Porsche scripted Cup wheel tonight, and frankly I'm blown away by every part of the experience. Installation was not so bad. I had some difficulty with the removal of that canceling ring apparatus thingee. Once that was free, the rest was easy. I buttoned it up and away I went for a spirited 60 mile loop through the local Angelus Crest mountains.
HOLY COW! What an incredible Mod! The car feels lighter, much easier to steer. It feels tactile, with endless feedback. I love the narrower rim, and the suede feels just right. The car is more intuitive, much easier to point with confidence, it just feels right and makes the car feel more like my early car. I cannot recommend this Mod enough.
I have more leg room, more space, and I now can use the telescoping feature to fine tune wheel placement for various types of driving duty. It also looks perfectly "right" in the cabin. With the cloth Recarro's, the alcantara shifter boot, and now this wheel, the car just looks perfect!
I need to get the horn figured out and also the air bag bridge done, and also want to find a lower profile horn ring so the button sits flush to the wheel, but these are minor bits. The look, feel and driving improvement is simply eye opening.

Is there an issue making the horn work? I saw a pic of an L shaped horn contact with a copper strip that appears to make contact with the copper strip inset into the Momo hub. Is this not the case?
Any tips on where to locate the air bag bridge and where it's installed?
Many Thanks

KK2, Thx for the links. The second link made all the diff. Great write up there. Glad to see you finally got your horn to work. I suspect there was enough grinding down of the copper surfaces during that track day that there was a nice contact created between the two surfaces. Your help is much appreciated. I just ordered the horn bridge and will build my own airbag resistor. Cool! I love getting the solder gun out Cheers

I just ran over to Fry's for a resistor for the air bag light. I got a 2.7K ohms 1/2 watt which is all I could find. Gert says 2.7 Ohms so not sure if the K makes a big difference. I also picked up a bullet connector so I'm going to give the horn a whirl too. Just received the L shaped horn contact plug in the mail, so I should have all the parts now. I'll let you know how it goes

Thx, I thought I had read that the 2.7K would be problematic, but I thought I,d give it a try as that is the only 2.7 version I could find. Can anyone say definitely which resistor to use and the associated watt? Cheers!
