mmm208: Since your keyboard apparently failed between your registering (since you obviously didn't use all caps in your name) and your post perhaps you should buy a new one before you start shopping for a GT3.

mmm208,

Maybe the question that should be asked here is to see a video of your driving skills before allowing you to purchase a GT3? I was having too much fun riding with an ex-racer car driver in a GT3 at the track this weekend to even think about shooting video. If he is pleased with the car on the track, I'm sure you will be too. However, if you buy one and find that your driving skills aren't up to the task of wringing every last ounce of performance out of the car, by all means feel free to donate the car to me...

Don't take offense, but if you think an in-car video is going to "prove" whether a car is "fast" or not, you probably don't need to be buying a GT3, IMHO...

I'm sorry I read this as if you needed to know if the GT3 was "fast enough" (whatever that means) BEFORE you bought one this week, implying that if it wasn't fast enough that you wouldn't buy it. If you are going to buy the GT3 regardless, then I don't understand the meaning of the original post.

mmm208: Porsche website has already done this for you. Go to USA site, select GT3 from drop menu, then select GT3 Experience. "One lap at Zeiplig" should do it for you. Suggest using headphones.

Ghost Rider pretty much said it but I thought as someone that has spent a little time in a race car with an in car camera the view you get through a camera lens make most anything look pretty tame. The first time I went out with the camera in the car I had the lens set for narrow angle and it almost gave me a headache to watch it as the long distance focus made everything a blur. I finally settled on the widest angle and it came out great but it sure made things look like they were happening at a very relaxed pace. Just look at the incar shots from any pro race over the week end, it makes 220 down the front straight at Monza or almost 200 at Daytona with 40 cars in a pack look easy. While I certainly don't have anything close to a 200MPH experience to judge by I feel sure that an incar video of a GT-3 going through it's paces would pale in comparison to actually sitting in the car while it's doing it. I am sure it would be great fun to watch but not a very good way to find out if a car is "fast enough for you".

Thanks for all those post guys. I really appreciate them.

The top gear video was about the Mk1 2000 gt3 (it was divxx format). i wonder if there is a major diff btw the 2000 and 2003 gt3.

Can anyone comment.

also car looks very tail happy in the corners . whats that about. i thought it could out handle a 911 turbo at the track.

mmm208: regarding the tailhappiness of the GT3 in the video, you obviously aren't familiar with how Tiff Needell likes to drive cars. And as he stated in the video, if that's not your driving style the suspension is adjustable.
