Great write up, cant wait to see one in the flesh. I'd also like to add one of these to the stable one day but they're 200K over here so that wont happen any time soon. Obviously a much more user friendly car than the 996 GT3 but sounds like not a replacement entirely.

You make me like the way the GT4 looks a lot more after reading that. Also, as an E46 M3 owner, I was quite happy to read your comment!

A well sorted out E46 M3 (suspension/brakes/headers/exhaust/csl air box etc) is an amazing N/A car and worth a consideration for anyone's garage. Even an SMG considering you could DD it and love it year round. I still want to add one at some point. I'm sticking to my guns that on a Saturday or Sunday morning I'd rather walk downstairs to the garage and see a cleanly modded M3 ready to take out than a 991 C2S.

The M3 isn't as big as a house and full of electronic nanny nonsense...

it would seem these two care are VERY evenly matched on a race track. The evo track battle had the 6-3 in a dead heat with a PDK Cayman GTS...I wonder how the GT4 compares.

I am halfway there. Full exhaust is complete and suspension is nearly completed. Sticking with Hawk pads/good fluid for now and maybe a 996 brake conversion in the future.

CSL airbox = drooool!! But so much $$ for an airbox

A buddy of mine has started importing an interesting CSL replica box...1/2 the price of the OEM and after seeing it in person it's just as good on build quality. Totally worth it

Saw that, I have a GT4 on order coincidentally and plan on selling the 6GT3 to get it.
Some days I am all for it, other days I am not sure about the move. Tough decision.

I go through the same daily mental anguish. Probably the world's greatest problem to have, but it's a realllllly tough debate.
