CLASSIC SHIFT **** - Delrin/Aluminum
Hey guys, just wanted to share my new shift **** design with you...
CLASSIC SHIFT ****
Classic ball ****, with a slight cutout around the equator for added grip - comes in either anodized aluminum or Delrin.
It's available in Standard height (comparable to stock), or in the Extended height version to raise the **** 1.5 to 2-inches - ideal for use with a short shifter. (Personally, I find the Porsche short shifter throws a little too short for my liking, and requiring a hair too much effort. The raised **** smooths the throws out, and I like having the **** located closer to the steering wheel.)
With the Standard base, both set screws are hidden from view. With the Extended base, a single set screw is visible on the right side of the shaft. And as you can see from the pic, several color and material combinations are available.
Here are some pictures showing the CSK - Extended version (Silver base / Black Delrin ****) - installed in my 996, with the Console Riser Kit. In that configuration the shifter is up high and close to the steering wheel, yielding some quick shifts!
And I'm now offering the option for shift pattern engraving - the product page has been updated accordingly:

has anyone had any issues with the shift boot not fitting on the new ****? mine is very tight and pops off the console when trying to shift. i feel the shifter base is as far down as it will go and folding the boot as high as possible

Can you send me a pic of your setup and where you cut the boot off of the OEM shift ****? In which gears is the boot stretching the most?
I have the standard **** mounted with my stock 996 integrated shift boot (cut off) with no issues getting to any of the gears, and that's with a stock longer throw shifter.

i do like it !! it has the right feel and size fitment. huge improvement over stock

The Classic Shift **** upgrade is definitely functional!!!
The OEM 996 shift **** is rubber wrapped in leather - grab it and twist it around to see how much it flexes. The upgrade I offer bolts directly onto the shifter shaft - so no more play from the shift ****, just nice and direct shift feel.
The picture above is the Extended height version. That will increase the shifter throw, so I prefer it in tandem with a short shift kit. Fitment is custom tailored for the Porsche rectangular shifter, as seen in the below pic. And with the Standard height version, both set screws are hidden from view.
