I love this sound!!!
I've had a custom made exhaust with x-pipe on my car for like a year and a half now. My biggest complaint about the 996 cars is the way they sound.
I knew I loved the exhaust from inside my car, but I've never actually heard it from the outside.
Unfortunately, my brother had a bit of an incident at the track this past weekend and I made him get back on the horse so to speak and take my car out for some lapping to get his head back on his shoulders correctly. The advantage to me is I got to hear my car from the outside for probably the first time ever at full throttle and its GLORIOUS!!!

Works for me - I wish it was a longer clip and fired off a shift!! 
X-pipe sounds like a GT3R!
I also didn't like the 996 GT3 exhaust note, even with muffler bypass pipe welded in. I've switched to 997.2 RS headers + cats, Ti center muffler and side muffler bypass and now it sounds like this. 70 lbs weight saving was another plus.

Here is one of mine with full M&M system rated to 105 db
In general the 996 GT3 sounds a bit raspy and unrefined compared to the crisper 997 cars.

We don't have restrictions at any of the tracks I've run so I've never measured. It's pretty loud though. I'd say 100+ at full song. It's not as bad as you'd expect around town, but cold start is a little obnoxious.
We even custom built the mufflers to be as large as they can be in the space they are confined to. My wife still drives it on the street every now and then so it can't be that bad right???

Can we just go ahead and turn this into a 996 GT3 exhaust sounds thread?
I see mention of Cargraphic, Fabspeed, Europipe, M&M and others here. Let's see and hear them! I am leaning towards the GMG World Challenge X-Pipe with stock cans, but would like to hear some others. I have scoured YouTube to hear as many examples as possible, but there are relatively few to really compare. Might as well have them all hear on RL in this thread!
Andy, feel free to veto my idea if I am hijacking in any way.
