Default 2003 GT3 Engine Emissions Issue

A new acquaintance of mine is trying to wrap up the purchase of a US spec 2003 996 GT3 with about 1,000 miles on it. For some reason the dealer (in California) tested the engine emissions and it did not pass.

The engine emissions are good at idle and at higher rpm but not at about 2500 rpm.

Does anybody have any information or advice on this subject?

Is this something that Porsche AG should correct under the emissions warranty? I would think the answer is YES.

Remember all the posts we had over the cars being held over emissions management (software issue).

The car is under warranty. The dealer, with the help of PCNA, should be able to easily correct the problem.

Thanks. So Viken... how long do the tires last on that little animation of yours?
