HELP / ADVICE Needed on Warranty GT2 rear wing
Hello ALL,
I p/u my 03 GT2 on Dec. 6th of last year. For the most part , it usually sits.
After 9 months and only 1516 total miles, the rear wing is delaminating.
Needless to say, if I get a replacement , Porsche / regional service mgr wants to provide a factory wing. BUT I would have to have it painted at local shop. To me it's NO longer 'factory'. I'm requesting to keep the original wing-since it's the first one. Second, requesting another "factory wing , but ALSO painted from the factory. So it can be "original" again.
I would like my whole car to be as original as possible, so as I can enter
it in future Porsche Parades.
Regional service mgr, says NO.
So, any suggestions ? Should I try to reach out for the new President of Porsche and if so, what his name ( it's Peter.... some thing).
Thank you,

This is a joke right?
The wing originality will not matter in the future as long as it is a Porsche part.
Are you also going to have to go to your pyschotherapist when your 'original' tyres and brake pads wear out and are replaced with non-factory items.........?
As for Court, well I must be old-fashioned, but I also thought that Courts are for convicting rapists and murderers, not soothing the egos of people who cry over bad paintwork.............

I wouldn't really worry too much about having it painted. If you find a good bodyshop that uses good German paint such as Spies Hecker the match will be unnoticable. I wouldn't stress too much about it, it is after all, only a thing...and it is fixable.

i'm not even sure what you're talking about?? your wing is messed up and they are going to fix it, what is the issue? You don't want them to fix the one you have and you don't want a new one? sounds like a difficult way to go through life.

Just have them get you the wing and send it to a body shop to be painted. That way they can color match it better, etc. This is completely common practice and will not take away from the value of the car. As mentioned above, as long as it is an OEM Porsche product you are fine

Guy,
he's a joke who's not joking. how else can the factory handle your problem?
pcna has painted whole cars, replaced bonnets, etc. for me. but no way to do it w/o local paint!!!! just select your favourite painter.
and you can buy my original parts for 5 times retail!!! they're original!!!

I should post this link to the thread in the Off Topic forum that asked why Americans are so quick to sue.
Maybe I should sue Porsche for making a crappy timing belt design on the 944, its been causing me a lot of mental anguish lately...

I cannot believe you wrote that. Take a deep breath, relax, and realize that the dealership is doing everything that they can to help you. I'm sure that they feel bad about the problem, but they are doing the best that they can do.
What state do you live in? Most states have a "contact rule" for mental anguish or emotional distress claims. That means that you have to be physically hurt in order to have a case for emotional distress. (IE, the wing broke and fell on your head, causing a laceration or a contusion------------did that happen??????)
