Default Air Conditioning delete?

Has anyone removed the air conditioning system from the car and if so what is involved? I never run my A/C and from a simplicity standpoint and weight savings, I'd like to get rid of it. Anyone know the amount of weight saved by removing the compressor and associated hardware and any implication of loosing the the A/C which is used to power the fuel cooler on the TT/GT2? There is no fuel cooler on the GT3 or Cup cars, btw. Anyone know if the fuel cooler is actually operating when the A/C is turned off and is in fact really necessary?

Thanks....

I helped a friend with this, it’s 20-21lbs total including the condensers and drier and the little lines in the front....not going to be worth it for most folks.

Leave the lines in the engine bay and running to the front of the car...they are nearly impossible to get out with the engine in the car.

The A/C compressor is right at 21lbs, condensors are 5 lbs for both, and the lines are going to be another 1 or 2 lbs. I removed all the power steering and A/C lines together and the weight was 6.5lbs. To remove all the lines, you need to have the engine and gearbox out of the car and the lines have to be cut out and removed in sections. Bolt cutters make it easy as the lines are all aluminum.

I know of one 6GT3 locally that was ordered with A/C delete.

The salesperson told me he tried to talk the buyer out of it, To each their own.
